TOPIC: THE “CRISPR” TECHNIQUE: THE TIME OF THE END
For the first time, a scientist claims to have used a powerful, new, gene-editing technique to create genetically modified human babies. Wow! IF TRUE, THEN THIS IS END-TIME KNOWLEDGE INCREASE! The scientist, He Jiankui of the Southern University of Science and Technology in Shenzhen, China, said he used human embryos modified with the gene-editing technique CRISPR to create twin girls.
He said: “Two beautiful little Chinese girls name Lulu and Nana came crying into the world as healthy as any other baby a few weeks ago,” he said in a video posted online. “The babies are home now with their mom Grace and their dad Mark.” He said his team performed “gene surgery” on embryos created from their parents sperm and eggs to protect the children from the human immunodeficiency virus, HIV, which causes AIDS.
The children’s father is HIV-positive. Again I say: if true, the move would be historic, comparing it to the birth of Louise Brown, the first baby created through in-vitro fertilization, IVF. Don’t forget that since the world’s first test-tube baby was produced about 35 years ago, there are now 250,000 children ‘created’ from the test-tube technology.
Now it is the gene-editing technique – CRISPR! The first reaction worldwide by scientists was that of shock. However, as these signals begin to emerge, the words of Daniel 12:4 become so real: “Seal the book, even to the times of the end: many shall run to and fro and knowledge shall be increased.” CRISPR technology may still be a controversy, not fully accepted in the scientific world and sounds unbiblical, but I hope you know that Jehovah Adonai created the egg of the woman and cells of the body!
The emphasis in today’s devotion however, is that we are in the times of the end. Can you doubt that? It’s time to sit up and daily take stock of your life on this planet. If the rapture should take place now, are you really sure that your name is still in the Book of Life? Keep your garments white and do a self-check/examination today and may we meet at the Foursquare City! Live as if Christ died yesterday and is coming back today!
