TOPIC: THE CASES OF TROPHIMUS AND TIMOTHY
Vs. 20 of today’s scripture says, “Erastus abode at Corinth: but Trophimus have I left at Miletum sick.” What? The great Apostle Paul left his companion in ministry sick? Why did God not intervene, despite all his prayers and healing anointing? Wow! Do you know that the same thing happened to Timothy, the great first bishop of Ephesus?
In 1Timothy 5:23, Apostle Paul told his son Timothy – “Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake and thine often infirmities.” Note “THY STOMACH’S SAKE” and “OFTEN INFIRMITIES.” That means Timothy was always sick – OFTEN INFIRMITIES! So why doesthe LORD not heal and visit His people all the time? When it seems that your prayers and fasting are not working, always remember that there is nothing new under the sun and always remember that YOUR WAYS ARE NOT HIS WAYS! It means God always has a plan!
Sometimes you are DELAYED where you are because God knows there is a STORM where you are heading to! When something is taking longer than you expected, trust that GOD IS PREPARING YOU for something awesome! True prayers always receive what it asks for or SOMETHING BETTER which may be painted in UGLY COLOURS! So, when mysterious things happen beyond your human control, always know that God is preventing SOMETHING WORSE! Be grateful and TRUST HIM! You will never end in shame!
