The Word of God is light! The entrance of light brings joy. Years ago, I was in a hotel in South Africa and the power went off! We were given big candles to use! I was shocked! Eskom is the South African electricity public utility board responsible for power generation!
That was the season of power rationing! Even in the developed western or European countries, weather can cause a power cut/darkness! Also in my country, whenever there is power failure, people will moan “Ooh” or “Ooh NEPA.” Some even curse the National Electric Power Authority (NEPA). To an extreme, there have been cases of community boys marching to the NEPA office to beat up workmen (e.g. during a football match). However, let power supply be restored and you hear shouts of jubilation,” UP NEPA! UP NEPA!!”
The emphasis in today’s devotional is that as a child of God, you have been delivered from the kingdom of darkness! Light has come into your life and any trace of the works of darkness around your life must not be tolerated or allowed to stay beyond this devotional hour. Know and enjoy your rights! This is your season to rejoice no matter the trials! Reject bad moods, frustration, sinful habits, stagnation, sickness, hopelessness, poverty, depression, confusion, prayerlessness, etc. They do not belong to you at all. You must rejoice again and shout, “Up JESUS.”
Don’t you know that you will laugh again? ( Psalm 126:2). Yes, your stolen joy is being restored now! Psalm 30:5 screams out loud: “…weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”

PRAYER POINTS: Take Song 2: Blessed assurance… Sin, sickness and financial shame are from the kingdom of darkness. Therefore, I command their influence over my life and ministry to be uprooted now in Jesus name. (Pray it seriously). Declare Colossians 1:12-13. Whether the devil likes it or not, I must walk in joy and light. I have been delivered from the power of darkness. Therefore, I reject any trace of darkness in any area of my life and ministry in Jesus name. Pray over today now.
