Our Daily Manna 19 December 2022 – THE AIRBUS AND THE JET FIGHTER!
TOPIC: THE AIRBUS AND THE JET FIGHTER!
An Airbus 380 was on its way across the Atlantic. It flew consistently at 800 km/h at 30,000 feet, when suddenly a Eurofighter with a Tempo Mach 2 appeared. The pilot of the fighter jet slowed down, flew alongside the Airbus and greeted the pilot of the passenger plane by radio: “Airbus, boring flight isn’t it? Now have a look here!” He rolled his jet on its back, accelerated, broke through the sound barrier, rose rapidly to a dizzying height, and then swooped down almost to sea level in a breathtaking dive.
He looped back next to the Airbus and asked, “Well, how was that?” The Airbus pilot answered: “Very impressive, but watch this!” The jet pilot watched the Airbus, but nothing happened. It continued to fly straight, at the same speed. After 15 minutes, the Airbus pilot radioed, “Well, how was that?” Confused, the jet pilot asked, “What did you do?” The AirBus pilot laughed and said, “I got up, stretched my legs, walked to the back of the aircraft to use the washroom, then got a cup of coffee and a chocolate fudge pastry.” Wow! The moral of the story is: When you’re young, speed and adrenaline seems to be great.
But as you get older and wiser, you learn that comfort and peace are more important. This is called S.O.S: Slower, Older and Smarter. The Holy Spirit wants to remind you that LIFE IS VANITY! Slow down and enjoy the rest of the trip through planet earth! Create time for your daily time with God via your ODM and your Bible! A life of worry, hustle, acquiring possessions and more possessions/riches could lead to sickness and agony of missing heaven if you are not divinely smart! I dedicate today’s devotional to all my friends who, like me, are seniors or mid-seniors and now realize that it’s time to slow down and enjoy the rest of the trip.
