TOPIC FOR TODAY:- THE SCORPION AND THE TURTLE!
Once upon a time, the scorpion wanted to cross the river. It noticed a turtle on the rock and begged the turtle to ferry it across the river where he could find some succulent green vegetation. The turtle asked, “How can I be sure, you will not sting my neck?” “Don’t be silly” the scorpion shouted back, “If I did that , we would both drown.” The turtle was persuaded and so they both swam (with the scorpion strapped to the turtle’s back) towards the green vegetation. When they were almost at the end of the river, contrary to its promise, the scorpion stung the turtle on the neck.
Struggling to make it to the riverbank and gasping, the turtle with a look of betrayal asked the scorpion, “Why did you do this to me?” Jumping from the turtle’s back to safety on the land, he replied, “I thought you might dive under the water and drown me.” The scorpion could not trust the turtle and that’s what happens to us all sometimes. Truly, the Word says, it is a curse to trust a fellow man like you – (Jer. 17:5). However, the same Word says, “love (charity) beareth all things, believes all things, hopeth all things and endureth all things” – 1 Cor. 13:7. In this year 2022, you can’t believe all things or hope all things in your dealings with people, if there is no element of trust.
I wrote this some years ago and I am led to scream it again: There is Sinful Trust (100% confidence in a man) and Social Trust (knowing that no man is an island). Social Trust will always give others allowance to fail without judging or being bitter against them. The Bible never said, “Trust your neighbour as yourself.” It says, “Love your neighbour as yourself.” God’s message to you today is: Believe in people you meet daily this year. Be true to them! You need others to succeed and someone somewhere, needs you to shine on this planet!
If men fail you (most often they will), commit them to God and move your life forward! Love all! Trust none! Trust God alone absolutely! In 2022, you will not fail!
