STOP CHASING HAPPINESS! JUST ENJOY THE MOMENT!

BASIC SCRIPTURE:

PSALM 16:1-11 (KJV)

1 Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.

2 O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;

3 But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.

4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.

5 The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.

6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

7 I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.

8 I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Our Daily Manna for Today 4 February 2022 Message

An old man lived in a village. The whole village was tired of him; he was always gloomy, he constantly complained and was always in a bad mood. The longer he lived, the more vile he became and the more poisonous were his words. People did their best to avoid him because his misfortune was contagious. He created the feeling of unhappiness in others. But one day, when he turned eighty, an incredible thing happened. Instantly everyone started hearing the rumor: ‘The old man is happy today, he doesn’t complain about anything, smiles, and even his face is freshened up.’The whole village gathered around the man and asked him, “What happened to you?” The old man replied, ‘Nothing special. Eighty years I’ve been chasing happiness and it was useless. And then I decided to live without happiness and just enjoy life. That’s why I’m happy now.’” Oh my word! HE CHASED HAPPINESS FOR 80 YEARS AND NEVER FOUND IT! Psalm 16:11 says: “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” That means HAPPINESS is in the PRESENCE of the LORD if there is TURBULENCE all around you! Omar Khayyam penned: “Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life.” Don’t wait for one special moment to come before you are happy! CREATE IT NOW BY FORCE! Lucius Annaeus Seneca quipped: “True happiness is to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future.” Hear Thich Nhat Hanh: “The present moment is filled with joy and happiness. If you are attentive, you will see it.” I love the blind Helen Keller: “Resolve to keep happy, and your joy and you shall form an invincible host against difficulties.” Hold out and hold on! LAUGH AT THE DEVIL NOW!
